Hypocrifish

In honor of the acts of mind-exploding hypocrisy on the part of our Republican leadership, we present a new emblem for Congressional vehicles:

Hypocrifish Picture

A few of my favorite examples of the new motto, It’s OK If You Are Republican:

Sen. Bill Frist condemns Democratic senators for using the filibuster to block 10 of Bush’s 229 judicial nominees, when he himself participated in a filibuster to block one of Clinton’s nominees. (The Republicans used a variety of Senate rules to block a total of 60 Clinton nominees; when the Rebublicans gained majority in the Senate, most of those rules were changed to prevent Democrats from using them.) Rep. Tom Delay’s public intervention in the Terri Schiavo case was very strange considering his participation in the decision to end life support for hi own father. His push for tort reform is also confusing considering his own family’s wrongful death lawsuit…(link)

George W. Bush flew back to Washington to sign emergency legislation to prevent the removal of life support from Terri Schiavo. Odd, really considering that when he was governer of Texas, Bush signed legislation allowing hospitals to remove patients from life support against the wishes of the next of kin–or even the patient himself if he’s conscious!–if the care is deemed “futile” and the patient is unable to pay. All the complaints–and threats!–from the Republican leadership about “partisan, activist judges” that ignore their own partisan, activist judges…like USSC Chief Justice Scalia. (link)

Remember Neo-Cons only care if they can get something out of it. If Terri was poor and black, they wouldn’t care.
